Bertha: The untold story
Scene 1
Starting off in a hospital where the twins, Mandy and Bertha are born
Margaret: Oh John isn’t this the most beautiful girl you ever seen?? Who ever knew she would be this beautiful. Our life is going to be so different now and perfect
John: oh yes it is, she is beautiful our life is perfect. Nothing could ruin this moment.
Suddenly Margaret goes into labour again
Nurse runs in
Nurse: oh my god! She’s in labour!!
Margaret yells and screams. Bertha is born.
They leave Bertha on the table and hold Mandy
Margaret: wow twins... isn’t this an unexpected surprise
john: yes it is.... so what now? What a surprise (has a very disappointing look)
They hug each other with Mandy in the middle. Leaving Bertha crying on the side
John and Margaret: don’t worry, we’ll manage
fast forward 17 years.
Scene 2
Starts off with Mandy running down the stairs. Bertha is sitting on the couch and eating chips watching a movie
Mandy: Bertha! Have you seen my tap dancing shoes??
Bertha: no, but their probably in the closet beside your band uniform
Mandy: oh, you’re right, you’re so useful, what would I ever do without you?
Bertha: I don’t know, you tell me
Mandy: ok... anyways.....(mom walks in through kitchen door)
Margaret: Mandy! Sweetie, are you ready for your ballet class?
Mandy: oh, it’s Tuesday, what’s wrong with me?? (has some sort of nervous breakdown) why do I always get things mix up? (Starts weeping) I don’t know mom, is it the choir practice, kung-fu class? theirs just too much mom.... and I need new heels for the up coming dance too! Ben’s so excited to take me.
Margaret: oh you know what Mandy? Forget ballet class, you can miss that, I m sure that your ahead of the other girls anyways, now lets shop!
Bertha: oh, can you pick me up a pair of heels too?
Doors slam so they couldn’t hear.
